Association Purpose

The purpose of Tahoe Keys Beach and Harbor Association is to own, control and maintain boat mooring easements.  The Association is organized and operated exclusively for recreation and other non-profit purposes in connection with the ownership, maintenance, upkeep, and improvement of controlled easements.

Legal Structure

The association was founded in 1963.  The Association is a tax-exempt social organization, a 501(c)(7) guided by Articles of Incorporation and adopted By-Laws.

The Association members pay an annual assessment to support all the activities of the organization.  The Association's membership is limited to those in ownership of residences in the subdivision Tahoe Island Park Addition Number 4 and any landlocked properties within the Tahoe Keys.

The business of the Association is conducted through a manager under the guidance and direction of an eight-person Board of Directors elected by the membership.  Board members serve two-year terms, which are staggered among the board members and with no term limits.

Board Officers are elected yearly by the Board Members.  Each July, in conjunction with the 4th of July weekend, a general membership meeting is held to inform members of the status of the Association and to elect Board Members.

The Association currently has ten docks housing 266 boat slips, with a supporting parking lot and restroom facilities.  Weather permitting, the Association facilities are open for use from April 1 to November 1.
